Project Description

AISRAP, through the MINDUP Australia research project, will contribute to monitoring and evaluation of the MINDUP intervention through Work Package 8, Evaluation of the MINDUP intervention pilot and cluster randomised controlled trial (cRCT). AISRAP will also conduct a pilot and cRCT of the optimised MINDUP intervention in Australian construction industry sites.

Australian Institute for Suicide Research and Prevention, AISRAP

Dr Victoria Ross is a Senior Research Fellow at the Australian Institute for Suicide Research and Prevention (AISRAP), Griffith University, Australia. Her current research profile has a focus across the key areas of workplace suicide prevention; postvention support for the suicide bereaved; and suicide prevention program evaluation. She has published widely in the area of suicide prevention and has made significant contributions to the field through increased understanding of the issues impacting the prevention of suicide in schools and the construction and farming industries. Dr Ross has received research funding of over 1.5 million AUD, including three Australian national competitive grants and 14 government/industry grants. She is CIA on the National Health and Medical Council -EU 2020 Collaborative Grant, MINDUP Australia.

Dr Kairi Kõlves is Associate Professor at the Australian Institute for Suicide Research and Prevention (AISRAP), and Co-director of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Research and Training in Suicide Prevention, School of Applied Psychology, Griffith University. Prior to joining the AISRAP team in 2008, she worked at the Estonian-Swedish Mental Health and Suicidology Institute. Dr Kõlves has been involved in several Australian, Estonian and international projects and has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers, numerous reports and book chapters on suicide research and prevention. She is a member of different advisory committees.  In 2010 she was the recipient of the Australian LIFE Award in Emerging Researcher category, and in 2017 the Griffith Health Pro Vice Chancellor’s Research Excellence Award (Mid-Career Researcher).
